What to Expect?

If you haven’t been to a church before or it’s been a long time,  it can feel a bit overwhelming and scary. To help with that, here’s what you can expect….

Weekdays. We are in the 15 Tobermory community space Tuesdays, and Thursdays from about 6:00 pm to about 9:00 pm. There are always a number of programs running for youth and adults. As you enter the community space (you might have to knock on one of the doors to get our attention). If Pastor Hans is available, he will be in the community office.

Sundays. Our Sunday worship starts between 11:00 and 11:30 am. You can park in the parking lot directly north of the building. You will have to come into the community space and request a parking pass. Once your car is legal, come back into the space and find a seat. As we are in a community space, we set up all furniture, chairs and equipment just before the service… We might still be busy doing that. Feel free to help out if you like or simply go into the kitchen area an grab a coffee or tea or simply have a seat. Bathrooms are on the south-west side of the community space. Usually bulletins are on the chairs, please check out current programs. Please turn of cell phones and other electronics when we start the service. We want to be able to focus on God during the service.

After the service we have a time for coffee, tea, food, snacks or just chatting together. Feel free to ask any questions. Chat with others or remain anonymous, your choice. I’m sure you will be greeted at one point or another. We’re a friendly bunch. You’ll see people dressed in T shirts and blue jeans to dresses, jackets and an occasional tie.

A worship service is usually just over an hour in length. Any standing or spoken responses from the congregation are announced so you won’t be put on the spot. We hope you will participate and feel welcome because Jesus welcomes all kinds of people at different points on the journey of faith and invites imperfect people to follow him and love others as he does. If you desire, please feel free to fill out a welcome card. We never give out personal information. Any information is only for our use.
